Badger Region is the proud recipient of a grant from USA Volleyball for Boys 14 and under development!

Please see below the different offerings and how to take advantage of them:

STIPEND TO GIRLS CLUBS FOR ADDING BOYS TEAMS
Girls’ clubs may apply for one of six $500 stipends to be used towards adding a new boys 12, 13 or 14 year old team. Interested clubs must submit a budget and schedule for consideration to Chad Schreiber(schreibercp@gmail.com) and Jennifer Armson-Dyer (jarmsondyer@badgervolleyball.org). Items like facility rental, equipment or tournament entry fees are all valid expenses to be covered by the stipend. These one-time stipends will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, with payment upon submission of receipts.

MEMBERSHIP & IMPACT FEES FOR FIRST-TIME BOYS COACH
Membership ($50) and Impact ($50) fees will be reimbursed for a first-time boys coach on a new 12s, 13s or 14s  boys team, to be paid upon completion of the first tournament that is coached. Coaches would submit for reimbursement and the club director would verify eligibility and coaching requirement. Ten coaches will be available to be covered by this stipend and it would be applied for on a first-come, first-served basis.

NEW 12s/13s/14s TEAM ENTRY INTO THE BADGER REGION CHAMPIONSHIPS
Clubs sending a new (intended to mean that a majority of the players have never before been to the Region Championships as a player) boys 12, 13 or 14 year old team to the Region Championship may apply for a free entry into the tournament. The club director would register the team on AES like a normal entry and then indicate that the payment would be “Boys’ Stipend” when sending in the AES roster. Nine total teams would be covered by this stipend and it will be applied on a first-come, first-served basis.

Using this grant money, Badger Region will also be running various clinics around the state. Below are some descriptions. If you and/or your club are interested in hosting or assisting with a clinic, please contact Chad Schreiber at the above email address.

Sister/Brother Clinic (2) - Badger Region would assist a girls club in running a clinic by subsidizing staff and covering the “brother” entry into clinic. The “brother” does not need to be related to girl entering clinic, but she must bring a boy, 14 or under, with her in order to register. Two of these clinics will be run in various locations throughout the state in locations underserved. The idea behind this is that we have contacts with thousands of girls throughout the state through Webpoint, and through those contacts with this clinic, boys will be introduced to the sport.

Father/Son Clinic (2) - Clinics to include instruction followed by “luck of the draw” format tournament.  Two of these clinics will be run in an area to be determined later where it is determined to be viable, most likely in an underserved area such as Green Bay, Madison orLaCrosse. The idea behind this is to provide an arena where both fathers (or uncles or other male adult) and sons can learn the game in order to grow the relationship between them, but also in the game. A preferred outcome would also be to get more dads involved in coaching their sons, and also grow the game by having more adult males interested, which directs the son’s interest to the game as well. We would look to use local collegiate men’s players in this event.

Please contact Chad Schreiber or Jennifer Armson-Dyer with any questions regarding the grant and welook forward to growing the game together! Please apply today!

Also, this is a one-time grant from USA Volleyball and we are looking at different fundraising options to be able to continue with it and other potential programs in the future. If you know of someone or a company who would be willing to sponsor various programs and events (including the Badger Region Championships), please have them contact me, or give their contact information to me and I will reach out to them. Sponsorship programs are in the process of being worked on and should be available shortly.
